Paris Fashion Week: The Fashion Capital Gears Up for a Record Edition

The new fashion season is entering its final stretch. After New York, London and Milan, it is now Paris’s turn to close fashion month with the Fashion Week dedicated to the Women’s Ready-to-Wear Spring-Summer 2027 collections. The event will take place from Monday 28 September to Tuesday 6 October 2026.
An exceptional edition
This season is already shaping up to be historic, with 101 houses on the official calendar, split between 68 runway shows and 33 presentations, making it the busiest edition ever organised for Parisian womenswear. Nine days during which shows will follow one another at a sustained pace, between great heritage houses and young labels.
Belgian designer Julie Kegels will open the week on Monday 28 September, followed by highlights throughout the week: Christian Dior will show on Tuesday 29 September at 2:30 pm, before Saint Laurent closes that same day in the evening, at 9 pm. A line-up that promises a particularly lively street-style scene around the show venues. The calendar will come to a close on Tuesday 6 October with Louis Vuitton, at 6:30 pm.
A springboard for young designers
Beyond the iconic houses, this Fashion Week also remains a key moment for the next generation. The SPHERE showroom, run by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode with the support of DEFI and L’Oréal Paris, brings together emerging brands invited onto the official calendar or award winners, selected for their creativity. It will be held at the Palais de Tokyo. Along with street style and the brands’ live streams, it is one of the only formats of the week that is truly accessible outside the very exclusive circle of professional guests, as the shows themselves remain strictly by invitation, with no ticketing and no venues announced in advance.
What trends to expect?
It is hard to fully predict the collections before they are unveiled, but the momentum built over recent Paris editions offers some clues. The previous season was marked by a deep creative renewal, driven by the arrival of new creative directors at the helm of historic houses, with a more sensory approach to clothing: fluid materials, controlled transparency, volumes that play on exaggeration and nonchalance rather than minimalist rigour. This quest for “living” clothing, in direct connection with the body and its environment, could well continue into Spring-Summer 2027, building on the work undertaken notably at Dior, Margiela and Courrèges.
Paris, still centre stage
Whether you are a buyer, a journalist, a content creator or simply a fashion lover, this week confirms one thing: Paris remains the ultimate stop and the most eagerly awaited event of the season, where the broad outlines of fashion to come take shape. Between physical shows, invitation-only presentations, exhibitions and pop-up stores scattered across the city, the energy of Fashion Week spills far beyond the runways to infuse all of Paris for more than a week.
