Pink October: When Beauty Becomes Care

Every year, October turns pink as a reminder of a reality that affects one in eight women in France: breast cancer. Beyond the symbol, Pink October is a key moment for awareness, screening and support, and an opportunity for brands to take concrete action rather than simply communicate.
Why this month matters
When detected early, breast cancer can be successfully treated in more than 9 out of 10 cases. Yet screening is still too often postponed, out of fear, lack of time, or simply because the essential steps are not well known. Pink October exists to remove these barriers: to recall the importance of breast self-examination, to encourage screening mammograms from the age of 50 (or earlier if there is a personal or family history), and above all, to break the silence around the disease.
Beyond the pink ribbon
But the disease does not end with the diagnosis. What follows is a long, demanding journey that affects the body as much as self-image. This is where certain initiatives take on their full meaning: supporting women in remission through care, touch and personalised beauty advice, to help them rebuild a peaceful relationship with their bodies.
Today, each of us can take action: learn about screening, talk about it with those around us, and support the associations that help women affected by the disease, before, during and after their illness. Sharing prevention messages on our social networks is also essential to reach a younger audience, often less aware of these issues.
Pink October is not just a month of communication: it is a reminder that prevention saves lives, and that care in all its forms has a role to play long after the diagnosis.
